I love the city. There's nothing better than strolling down 5th Ave., chatting with friends, grabbing a coffee, and settling down in Central Park to admire the atmosphere: the towering building along Billionaire's Row, the families having picnics, and the little girl picking flowers for her mother.

Walking up and down Upper East Side and Upper West Side and listening in on the conversations of the most interesting persons you can possibly imagine.

However, we recently discovered the beauty and tranquil feeling of "getting away from it all", away from the hustle and bustle and, quite literally, away from everybody else.

We'll take short trips to various local and remote locations outside of the city. Whether it's hiking in the Catskill Mountains, taking our wonderful Rhodesian Ridgeback, Gloria, on long walks along the Hampton beaches, sitting on rustique wooden chairs while sipping wine in a vineyard on the North Fork, or grabbing our Barbour jackets and walking in the misty air on Shelter Island at the tip of Long Island (don't forget your rubber boots, which can be quite stylish by the way).

Nothing's quite lilke it. Unwinding in a quiet environment, decelerating your pulse, releasing tension, and regaining the energy you need to pursue your goals and dreams for your loved ones.

So the next time you're thinking about what to do on the weekend, try the "Quiet Luxury" type of trip and see for yourself what a tranquil, quiet, and peaceful environment can do for you.
